VR Experience App Tips & Troubleshooting

Tips for an optimal VR adapted to web browser app (Experience):

Launching the app

  • Allow 5-7 minutes to complete the experience.
  • Open this in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on your laptop or desktop (it’s not compatible with mobile devices… yet)
  • The app will open in a new window and may take a few minutes to load. 
  • Set the browser window to full screen 
  • There are a few pathways to take in this experience depending on which option you choose. We encourage you to click replay and discover how each option plays out.
  • Remember to go back to the top of the page and click Complete and Continue when you’re done
  • See below for tips on how to use and troubleshoot the experience

Technical requirements

  • Recommended device. Laptop or Desktop computer (not an iPad, tablet or mobile phone)
  • High Speed Internet connection. This will reduce loading time and ensure the apps run smoothly.
  • Up-to-date Browser. Preferably Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Safari is not supported. Make sure your browser is up to date before launching the apps.

Things to consider

  • Move and control the experience. Use the mouse to move around and control the perspective / view of the user.
  • Click to pull the trigger. When the scenes are underway, clicking anywhere on the screen will trigger you have recognised bias. It will not recognise bias when you are giving a choice to pick what to say, or in the main menu / review scene.
  • Skipping scenes. You will notice a ‘skip’ button in your apps. This is used when you’ve already played through the apps and want to replay scenes again. When replaying the apps and using the ‘skip’ button, we recommend allowing the audio to start before clicking the skip button. Once your characters have started talking, then hit skip to move forward to the next scene.

Troubleshooting

If your experience doesn’t load be sure to:

  • Check you’re connected to the internet
  • Check you’ve cleared your browser cache (for instructions on how to do this in any browser, click here)
  • Re-launch the experience
  • Allow 15 minutes for the experience to load
  • Make sure the experience is full screen.

If you see this error, feel free to ignore it. It should go away shortly.

If you have met Tamara (woman in top right hand corner) and are unsure how to start / proceed – you many encounter:

Problem: The green start button is off your screen

Which means: Your window it’s too wide, and not tall enough

Solution: Make the browser runs full screen, or resize the window to see the green start button
